Louisiana Parent Encourages Teens to Grow With Grace

Alcohol use among teenagers has reached frightening proportions, resulting in injuries, illness, and death.  It also has a significant impact on adolescents at home, school, and in the workplace.  Author Suzonne Underwood’s debut book, Growing With Grace, addresses alcohol, drugs and other risky behaviors to her daughters and teens everywhere, encouraging them to choose safer, healthier alternatives.

As a mother, Underwood exposes the dangers of alcohol consumption by revealing true accounts of the dangers and destruction of lives as a result of teenage drinking. In a loving, yet firm, voice, she encourages teens to lead a righteous life which will protect their health, safety, and their reputation.

Growing With Grace is a heart-to-heart talk from a mother to her children about the dangers of alcohol, drugs, online social networks like Facebook and MySpace, and peer pressure. Underwood explores these issues and more, connecting teens with others like them who have suffered the negative effects of participating in such activities so they can understand the imminent risks involved.

“It became increasingly obvious to me that alcohol use among teens is on the rise, not only on special occasions like prom night, but on a regular basis.  As a parent, I could not sit silently and ignore this alarming trend.  I knew it was my responsibility to reach out and address these issues with my daughters and teens everywhere in the hopes that I can help them recognize the dangers involved in drinking and seek less risky activities,” said Underwood.

As a Christian, she encourages using faith as a guide throughout life in the hopes that teens everywhere will grow with grace and dignity. Growing With Grace encourages every child to live up to their potential.  It is an eye-opening guide and a timely message for teenagers and parents everywhere.
